From a Paris estate, this circa 1940s long palisandre French buffet cabinet with extensive wood and mother of pearl inlay is attributed to Jules Leleu. Each side of this piece features a cabinet that opens to storage with a single internal shelf. The middle section has double doors that open to a storage compartment with two shallow drawers. The front side columns are decorated with fine inlay work in contrasting woods and mother of pearl with a motif of flowers, birds and butterflies. The cabinet doors feature decorative marquetry in a geometric pattern with mother of pearl accents. Curvy carved footed base and polished brass hardware. Stunning piece with an expertly restored finish.
