Late 19th Century Louis XVI Style Mahogany Desk - Bonheur du Jour

Description

Circa 1890s French secretary desk or bonheur du jour (translates to daytime delight) in mahogany and brass. Top section has a brass gallery, decorative brass trim and mounts. Two hinged locking doors open to storage space with a single fixed shelf. Two small bottom drawers, flip top writing surface with new black leather top. Functional locking bottom drawer. Two keys included. Legs are tapered with brass feet and brass trim at top. Unknown maker. Very good antique condition with minor scattered surface wear.
