Medium French Early 20th C Confit Jar

Description

Found in France, this French confit jar dates from approximately 1915. This piece stands 9.5” high and has the traditional form with a wide vessel body and two handles on the sides with a mustard-colored glaze on the outside top half and fully glazed inside in a lighter mustard color. The large white blotch on top front in photos is the reflection of our studio lighting and NOT a flaw in the glaze. There is some scattered age-related wear - chips to glaze, rim and base and a vertical surface crack on top portion of mustard glaze. No structural damage or repairs found. These older, traditional French pots are getting more difficult to come by and at the time of this posting, we have a good amount of inventory in various sizes, shapes and glazes. Please inquire if you are interested in a group or other pieces from our current available inventory.
