Ian Hartwell has designed the perfect pied-a-terre. Visit this quiet spot, beautifully appointed with each piece chosen for its exquisite design.

Walk into the creme and black living room, with rugs and accents of warm bordeaux, brass, and glass. A fabulous 1850s ebonized Napoleon iii desk with ormolu fittings is placed under a 19th century Dutch nickel-plated chandelier. A 55” high empire-style cabinet with brass detail is surrounded by a pair of creme painted wood columns. Over the intimate seating area, a 70” horizontal Italian 19th century gilt mirror hangs below an equally impressive giltwood sunburst mirror.

Look through the custom French doors and into the garden. A stone bust of a Grecian woman on a fluted column is centered and surrounded by foliage and lavender.
